As if Super Mario Maker didn’t already feature enough classic game references, old-school gamers should recognize Sonic’s 8-bit likeness from his appearances in the Master System and Game Gear Sonic titles! Talk about attention to detail! Sonic the Hedgehog’s 8-bit sprite has also been discovered. That isn’t the only sprite recently revealed on Miiverse. So, either Nintendo does have a new Tingle Amiibo on the way, or Super Mario Maker will feature a ton of various Nintendo-inspired sprites.

That having been said, those sprites will also be unlockable in the game through other means, so this doesn’t necessarily mean that a Tingle figure is in the works.
